The Nationals fought back with 1 run in the 2nd on a double by newcomer Manny "Nolo" Reyes and a single by Yuri Lopetegui to make the game 3-1 after 2 innings. Diamondbacks starter Mike Prohias pitched very well, but could only get through the 5th inning before giving way to Jamil Lopez. Yerandy Martinez greeted Lopez with another solo homerun to make the game 4-3. Neither team could score in the 7th. The Diamondbacks had bases loaded in the 8th, but Nationals pitcher Eric Berkowitz slithered out of the jam to keep the deficit at 4-3. The Nationals scored 5 big runs in the 8th inning, highlighted by Gil Garcia's 3 run homer (his 2nd homerun of the game) to seal the victory for The Nationals.

Team Venezuela         11
FIU Club Baseball         1
Game summary
By David Weiss - FIU Club Baseball - Alex Pousa pitched well for 6 innings, striking out 7. His loan mistake came in the 3rd inning when he left a fastball high for Venezuela's 5th batter who took him deep to right field for a three-run homerun. Pousa had no help from the defense. We had 5 errors on the day. It also does not help when the only offense comes from your first and third batter. We had a total of 5 hits. Juan Corrales and David Weiss each had 2 and Ariel Medina had 1. The team struck out 11 times. This is our 4th consecutive game with 10+ strikeouts. SAD. Juan Corrales drove in FIU's only run in the 3rd inning with a sac fly to centerfield, scoring Jenson Brun. No Player of the game.

In a matchup of two lefty starters going head to head sox newcomer Stephen rozenman showed what he was made of. Throwing a complete game 13k performance Stephen earned a tough fought victory. Rockies lead 4-2 heading into the 7th inning but sox still had some fight left. Sox would go on to tie it in the 7th and take the lead in the 8th with double from Anthony garce. Sox manager had the convo with pitcher Stephen rozenman and he said there is no way you are pulling me out this game and that's exactly what the manager wanted to hear.

Game summary
Ariel Medina chose to give the bullpen a break today. He pitched a 2 run complete game, with 0 earned runs. You almost have to feel bad for Twins pitcher Toni Dimaio, who was also specacular, striking out 9 panthers over 8 innings.
The Twins took the early lead in the 1st inning on a run scored due to an error.
For a while, it seemed like that might be enough for the Twins to win the game as Dimaio dominated early. David Weiss broke up the no hit bid with a double to right field in the 4th inning with 2 outs but remanied at second base.
FIU finally strung together some hits with two outs in the 6th inning. Leadoff Juan Corrales singled, Armani Medina followed with a single of his own, and David Weiss was able to knock in another one and tie the game.
The Twins answered back quickly in their half of the inning and were again up by 1.
In the 8th, Ariel Medina helped his own cause by leading off with a hard hit infield single that Dimaio could not react to. Corrales followed with his second hit of the game, a line-drive to leftfield. With heads up running, Ariel went first to third and Corrales made it to second base as well. Runners on second and third no outs.
Armani followed with a fly ball that was just not deep enough to bring in Ariel from third base. One out. Next up, Weiss got on base with a hit by pitch.
Cleanup hitter Jason Vila was able to do the job with a groundball to the shortstop. Weiss made up for the hit by pitch by breaking up the double play with a beautiful slide that caused the second basemen to misthrow the ball. Two runs scored and FIU took the lead 3-2.
This game was far from over. The Twins showed fight and started the 9th with a single.Their next batter also singled. However, centerfielder Armani Medina made a tremendous throw to get the runner who was attempting to get from first to third. The Twins momentum stopped there.
Ariel Medina took it upon himself to catch the last pop out of the game, calling the whole infield off. He wanted this game.
Player of the game: Ariel Medina 9 IP, 0 ER, (also went 1-4 and scored tying run)
Honarable Mention: David Weiss 2-3 (2B, RBI, HBP)... and a beautiful slide.
